Snowkit woke up early and quietly snuck out of the nursery. Sticking his head out he watched the dawn patrol leave. Once they where gone no one else was in the clearing. he quickly headed for the dirt place and snuck out through a small hole in the wall. He took off at a slow lope crossing the stream at it's shallowest part. The water came up only to his stomach there. Once on the other side he picked up his speed and took pleasure in the feel of his muscles stretching in a way they never had before. Sunkit had never run like this before, after a while he finally stopped to catch his breath. He was exhilarated from the run. Once he caught his breath he padded a few feet to the stream and sat down.
Snowkit recalled watching the elders at the edge of camp fishing for minnows. Snowkit tried to copy them, thinking maybe Fangstar might reconsider making him an apprentice if he brought back some prey for the camp. He sat silent trying not to make any noise though he didn't now if he was or not since he was completely deaf. After what felt like forever a large fish swam right under him. He swiped his paw down like he had seen the elders do. His claw hooked it but he lost his balance and fell in. He struggled for a few minuted but managed to drag himself out of the stream. Water was streaming from his pelt. Not bothering to try and shake it off he just sat back down and tried again.
