The current season is leaf-fall. The next medicine cat meeting is October 25th. The next Gathering is on November 16th.

ThunderClan: Applepaw, Rosepaw, Snowpaw, and Shadowpaw are now apprentices.

RiverClan: Prey is fine, and RiverClan is doing well.

WindClan: Loner kits have been discovered on WindClan territory, and one is being treated for sickness.

ShadowClan: A fox was spotted on ShadowClan territory. Breezepaw was attacked by a rogue, and apprentices must now be accompanied by a warrior when leaving camp.

Shorttail walked out of the warriors den and stretched her muscles rippling under her pelt. 'I wonder what I should do today,' the young warrior thought happily and thought about hunting. 'Hunting would be perfect I bet I could do some good hunting, but it isn't really fun to hunt by myself,' she thought pouting looking around for a cat to go hunting with. Her siblings were no where to be found so she guessed that they were already outside camp maybe doing a patrol or something for the clan. 'I'll be out hunting soon so they won't be the only ways to be doing something for the clan," she thought flicking her ears back and forth. 'Maybe I should call out to see if anyone wants to go hunting with me,' she thought. "Hey, does anyone want to go hunting with me, bet it'll be fun?" she called out cheerfully and waited for a clan mate to answer her.

Stonefang stretched in the center of camp, early morning sun warming her fur. A morning patrol had just been sent out, and she felt somewhat slighted that she hadn't been chosen to join. It had been a few days since she had been chosen for patrol, and her morning hunting trips seemed too early for many others who remained in the camp. She was tired of going out alone, but she didn't want to remain useless in the camp.

As she began to leave, her ears pricked, hearing a voice calling out. After a few moments, she recognized the voice as Shorttail - a newly made warrior. She and the younger cat hadn't spoken very much before; Stonefang was well out of her apprenticeship before Shorttail had even been born. Still, she seemed nice enough, and a hunting partner would very much be appreciated.

She bounded toward Shorttail, slowing her steps as she came near, excited at the prospect of a new friend. "I heard you needed a hunting partner?"

"Yep, sure do, hunting alone is so boring, so I'm looking for a hunting partner," Shorttail told Stonefang cheerfully. She always seemed to be cheerful there wasn't much that could get this young cat down. She still had the care-free nature of a kit even though she was a warrior and her kit like personality always seemed to annoy her sister. She didn't care though it was just the way that she was. "We could go hunting together, and become friends," she meowed. She was really optimistic which seemed to annoy cats who were negative. She seemed to get on the nerves of Grayscar a lot because she was so cheerful. She knew that Stonefang's mother was the deputy but she wasn't so shallow to try and befriend someone just because of a rank their parents might hold. "Should we head out now?" she asked tilting her head to the side she knew the warrior was older than her and she was respectful enough to let the older cat take the lead in their hunting trip.

Stonefang was surprised at Shorttail's frankness; she figured that sort of confidence came with being a new warrior. It was a good thing, she decided, as it seemed a few too many other cats lost that sort of enthusiasm as they aged. As though they had forgotten the warmth that came with clan life.

"That sounds great," she said. "I would love to go hunting with you! Far too boring to stay cooped up in the camp with no duties." Stonefang didn't know much about Shorttail's hunting skills, but she supposed it didn't matter as long as they brought back something and had some fun in the process.

"Now seems good. There have been more rabbits near the stream lately. I think it may be a new burrow nearby." The stream was close to the ThunderClan border, but Stonefang was a skilled hunter, and it wasn't as though Shorttail was a kit or apprentice. It would be fine, she was sure. "How about that?"

"Yeah, it is way to boring to sit around camp doing nothing all day and we can't help our clan either if we just sit around doing nothing," Shorttail meowed cheerfully. She loved helping her clan and didn't like not doing anything for her clan. The thought of doing nothing for her clan didn't really make her happy though most of her clan mates couldn't tell when she was sad most of the time since she was always so perky. She was a morning person and was usually perky from the time she got up until the time she went to bed.

Even seeing all the death in her life she hadn't lost her carefree nature. She wanted to just do everything that she could for her clan and she never did anything without having fun at the same time of course hunting was always fun to her no matter what she did. Of course this was the cat who found sharing tongues with her clan mates as fun. There wasn't much that she didn't find as fun she just didn't think fighting was fun but most things her clan mates thought of as boring she thought of as fun. She especially liked to help the elders anyway she could even if it meant checking them for ticks and fleas which her siblings thought was weird.

She came out of her thoughts when Stonefang spoke one more and she smiled. "Okay, lets go then," she meowed excitedly before heading towards the camp entrance. She couldn't believe that they were finally going to hunt for the clan. Hearing the older warrior say something else she glanced over her shoulder before saying something. "That sounds good, maybe we can bring back a bunch of rabbits for the clan. Or for the queens and elders we have to make sure they eat something first," she meowed cheerfully. She hoped that they caught a lot of prey for their clan mates because she would be so happy. She really enjoyed helping her clan and hoped that they could feed their whole clan. She knew it was kind of a crazy idea but the young warrior was kind of a dreamer.

Shorttail slipped out of camp and enjoyed the breeze that blew through her pelt. The breeze always felt better when they weren't in camp. She turned towards the entrance of camp waiting for Stonefang to make an appearance so that that could leave. She had never been good at siting or standing still so she just started to fidget. She wanted to catch a few rabbits for her clan and hoped that could keep themselves from going to hungry during leafbare.
