Name: Leafkit , Leafpaw , Leafstrike , Leafstar
Clan/Status: WindClan Leader
Age: 36 moons
Gender:
She Cat
Appearance: (see my avatars for her photos) Leafstar is quite the looker and she has been that way her whole life. Her long-fur is coated with many different shades of orange, black, white, and gray, all splattered together as though someone had just taken paint and threw it everywhere than tried to smooth it out. For the most part, she can be considered an orange or sorrel cat, as orange appears to be her primary color while the others just blend and add into the mess. The only spot on her that escapes the patches of color is her solid white chest that drags all the way to her underbelly, coating it as though it were the cleanest spot on her. She also has four solid white paws and a white tail tip. All untouched in their positions away from the patches. Leafstar has a rather small frame, like most WindClan cats do. The only thing that makes her stand out is her blast of color and her long fur. No one really knows how that came to be as her parents were simply short-furred cats, but it must have come from somewhere. She has long legs and small paws, making it easy for her to reach quick speeds and trip up her prey at ease. It is with this thin frame and speed that is is hard to maintain it or be good at endurance. Leafstar has bright green eyes that can blend into the forest around her.
Personality:
The one thing that really determines your place in the Clan and to Leafstar is simply loyalty. She expects all of her Clanmates to carry it and she does not take well to being disobeyed or relations (outside of gatherings) to other Clans. Either way, she is pretty laid back and patient when it comes to her Clan mates. There is nothing she wouldn't do for them and in her mind, nothing they wouldn't do for her. Though she has pride in her clan, Leafstar lacks confidence in herself as a leader to them. She is capable of standing up to others and she is confident in everything else. But, when it comes to being a leader, the young she cat just doesn't know what way to learn. Another disadvantage that seems to poke at her is her young age, it gives her the nature of being less/inexperienced than the other leaders that are out there. Because of this youth, she is known to be a bit rebellious and take situations further than the need to go. Rather than talking something out (though she doesn't like fighting) she may take something as going too far, and instantly drawing a war about it. When it comes to more inside her Clan life, Leafstar loves to hunt and be on patrols. She is very active in her Clan and not only by giving orders. She leads more patrols than one can count, whether they be hunting or scouting, she is almost always there, and rarely let's a patrol go without her on it - though she is fair to let everyone get a chance to lead. She is simply there to enjoy the walk or the hunt.
Along with being rebellious, Leafstar is also a little on the dauntless side. The difference being that rebelling is blind, acting out of concern, worry, anxiety, or rage. Where as dauntless is more unprovoked, just simply feeling daring and wanting to act out on it. Though, this is much less negative than being rebellious and can almost be considered positive - though with her it's more neutral. Like the fair share of leaders in the four clans, Leafstar is compassionate. She loves her Clan mates as though they were all her kin, being sure that every idea, every plan, and every moment of their lives is for the greater good for them.
History: It all started with a simple love story that seems to twist our nerves and make us all jealous if we don't have it. Simply, a handsome black tom with striking green eyes and a pretty, color blasted she cat with blue eyes crossed paths, locked gazes, and fell in love. It took the two moons before they were ready to have kits - by the time they did they were both pretty much able to be considered senior warriors. The birth was a little ruffled and a bit nerve-wracking. With a mother so much older than her youth, it was very likely either she or the litter would die. But, StarClan must have been on her side, as she was given precious kits. Two toms and two kits. However, it was obvious from the start that the second she kit - the final to be born and the smallest of them all - was having difficulty grabbing onto life. Not only was she much smaller than the other kits, she breathed with a slight rasp to her breath, one that eventually began to wrap her body in wicked coughs. For a while it was thought to be white-cough, but with the weather so warm and no other sick cats it was soon just passed off as some part of her body that just didn't grow properly with so many kits.
Sparrowkit didn't even get to see the light of day before she joined StarClan around the age of 2 and a half moons. But, much unaware of their sisters condition and death, the other 3 kits continued to grow up just fine. The mother grieved for a while, but soon had to simply focus on the three she still had, and thank Starclan that she was even able to have such a big number of healthy kits. The largest of the three was a dark red/russet tom named Russetkit. He was a bit bulkier than most WindClan cats would get, and he was ever so strong - even for a kit! He tussled with his siblings and the shy Nightkit always ended up losing while Leafkit was spunky and never willing to back down. Though she was smaller and more prone to get hurt, she was quick and agile, always knocking the russet brother of hers of his game. The kits grew up healthy and well-behaved, never really finding trouble, even when they were the only kits in the nursery. And with their good-behavior, they were granted on-time access to become apprentices and boy were they stoked. Leafkit couldn't explain all the emotions that ran through her as she sat beside her mother and father, waiting for her name to be called and a mentor to be given - the only thing she could dream of was pleasing her clan as best she could.
"Leafpaw! Nightpaw! Russetpaw!" The crowd cheered and the new apprentices squirmed under their fur, unable to hold back all the pride and excitement that seemed to explode in their tiny bodies. Leafpaw was given the mentor Larksong, a lithe brown tabby with pretty golden eyes. She was kind and patient with the rebellious apprentice and was sure to teach her well. Only on the third hunting lesson was Leafpaw able to catch a rabbit and earn a bunch of wows from the clan, she had never felt more accepted and proud of herself. It was then that her dream changed, she was not satisfied with being a warrior when she was old enough, but to be the leader! She wanted to see the pride on her clan mates faces every time she spoke to them taught them a new trick or saved them from danger. She wanted to see them thrive. The rest of her apprentice moons flew by, and when she and her siblings were 13 moons old, they became warriors. Leafpaw became Leafstrike, for the blast of color that filled her pelt. Nightpaw became Nightfur, for his fur as dark as the night. And Russetpatch for the night he managed to get himself stuck in a patch of thorns (though if you ask he'd tell you it was cause of the splashes of red on his coat). The two sat in a silent vigil with their heads held high and their bellies warm with praise and purpose.
Being a warrior was better than Leafstrike expected. She was always busy, never really having to do anyone's dirty work, but instead assigning it! She could have been considered a little bossy, but overall, she was a strong and valuable warrior of the clan. She was fiercely loyal, bound to the warrior code with more than just her life, but her soul and dignity as well. She was dauntless - always willing to push the limits for a bit of a thrill or just some fun. And for one thing she was confident. Stubborn and sure of her opinion and ready to fight for what she believed. However, her life changed for the worst when a horrible case of green-cough began to spread through the camp. Her brother, Nightfur, was one of the first to fall victim - followed by at least 4 other warriors, the deputy, and 3 lives of the current leader. And before they even had time to grieve, they were all in shock when Leafstrike was chosen as the new deputy. She was young, only standing 30 moons and lost her brother, but now she was deputy too? it was such a wave of emotion on the she cat, that it turned negative, and she shut herself out from the world. Staying in her nest, never going out on patrols, and rarely eating. It was 2 moons before she began to open up to the idea that she was possibly able to live her dream of becoming leader.
When she finally found her head, Leafstrike opened herself up the world, allowing herself to live for both her deceased brother and Sparrowkit as well. She took her duties and leadership naturally, being able to give orders as well as follow them from the one cat who stood above her. Only about 4 moons after she really began to take up the responsibility of who she now was, the current leader was killed by a badger attack in the camp. No one else was lost, as the leader had fought like a true savior, but it still shook the young Leafstrike to her bones. She was now the leader and though it was everything she had wanted it to be, she was so many things. Shocked. Terrified. Lost. Unsure. Excited. She didn't know how to feel, and she almost lost herself in that dark state again, but she forced herself to be strong for the Clan. What kind of leader would she be if she left them to struggle alone? She was all they had, they needed her.
And she was going to be the best leader that WindClan had ever seen.
