Wildpaw couldn't sleep maybe it was that she was two use to sleeping with other cats and wasn't use to sleeping in the medicine den without her siblings. Letting out a sigh the young she-cat got to her paws and slightly slipped out of the medicine den not wanting to wake Cloudleap. 'Why does everything have to happen to me?' she asked herself her mind going back to what had happened three moons ago.Three moons ago was when she had realized that she would never make it if she trained to be a warrior. She had always wanted to be a warrior but because of being born unhealthy and being only the size of a three moon old kit had shattered those dreams. 3 moons ago she had been playing with her siblings when everything had changed. She was still sickly but she had come to find that if she didn't push herself past her limit her illness didn't affect her as harshly.
Though that didn't mean that she was completely well. She would still fall into coughing fits if she walked around to much and that left her feeling useless and frustrated with the way her body was made. She wanted to help her clan without nearly collapsing when she walked across the camp so she had decided to train as a medicine cat. That rigorous training that would have had her make if they had let her train as an apprentice probably would have ended up killing her in the end. She shook her head letting out a sigh and tilted her head back to gaze up at the moon. She had always enjoyed looking up at the night sky. 'I wonder if my parents are up there,' she thought remembering what she had heard from the elders stories about her parents. According to the elders her parents had been nice and had been so close that when her father had died before knowing that her mother was expecting kits, he mother had sunk into depression causing her to die when she had her kits.
'I wonder if things would be different if mother hadn't died,' she thought dropping her gaze from the sky and just looked around the clearing. 'Maybe a walk around the camp will help me sleep,' she thought getting to her paws once again and slowly began to walk around camp. She didn't want to move to fast for fear that she wouldn't be able to breath again it had only happened once more after the accident when she was 3 moons old. She could still remember how it had felt to not be able to breath and it made her shudder. She hadn't liked the feeling of not being able to breath, in fact it had scared her. 'What will I do if it ever happens again?' she asked herself getting worried as she thought of the fact that she might have another accident like she had, had when she was three moons old.
'I hope nothing like that never happens again,' she thought sitting down barely realizing that she was close to the nursery because she hadn't really been paying attention to where she was going. The sight of the nursery only made the memory more real and for a second she felt like she couldn't breath but once she calmed down she found that she could breath again. 'I shouldn't let myself get so worked up, all that is in the past,' she thought letting her eyes close for a minute. She re-opened them and took a deep breath before getting back to her paws and heading back to her original spot. Her green eyes were filled with determination to not let her illness get the best of her. 'I can't let this get the best of me,' the ginger furred apprentice thought before sitting back down and curling her tail over her paws.
She knew there was a time that her clan mates had thought she wouldn't make it past a week but she had proved them wrong because she was six moons old and she was still alive. She had been a fighter from a start and if she had to fight to stay alive she would. She wouldn't let her disease beat her, no matter what she wouldn't let her disease beat her. Letting out a sigh she returned her attention to the sky hoping that she would soon be able to go to sleep and that when she did she would have good dreams.
