Birchpaw shoved back the colsfoot into a small crack in the den wall.  The stock inside the cracks were dusty and dear starclan the two cats needed to clean. "Essentials. Right."  He nodded curtly towards the older tom. They felt relieved, not taking a sample of every herb.  Riverclan needed their stock, Shadowclan had theirs. The gray tabby scanned their supply of herbs, and for a entire clan trying to survive the middle of leafbare,  it was pretty okay. It was short - yes - but better than the other clans, at least.  "What would be the 'essentials', though? Isn't all of this," He brushed his tail over the cracks in the den walls, where the herbs were stored. "Kinda essential?"  Well, Sparrowheart did mention tansy.  Birchpaw crouched down to get a better look into their storage places to find the tiny yellow flowers.  He found them more by smell than sight - even though the flowers had been drying for sometime, their strong scent still gave way.  They fished the flowers out with his tiny paw that easily fit through the tiny gaps. Birchpaw had to often retrieve herbs that Sparrowheart couldn't reach.
